Overview

A family in the West Village is seeking a ROTA nanny to help care for their 3 month-old and 9 month-old, starting in February 2025 (by which time they will be 5 months old and 11 months old, respectively). The schedule will be 1 week on/ off and the family are ideally seeking a long-term commitment from candidates, to ensure consistency of care for their children. Currently there is an entirely separate apartment for the newborn care specialist and nanny on the same floor as the family’s apartment, and this is where they spend their days with the children, so they will have plenty of privacy and space. The family are moving to a new property in May 2025, where the nannies will have their own suite with a separate entrance - this space has been designed from scratch and will include a microwave, fridge, coffee maker etc.

Responsibilities

  • The 3 month-old is on kidney dialysis and has a feeding tube. There won’t be a need to administer medicine and candidates will be taught everything they need to know regarding G-Tubes and kidney dialysis etc. Taking the 3 month-old to dialysis 3 x per week will be an integral part of this role.
  • Candidates should be proactive and have a solid understanding of child development/ developmental milestones, with a passion for helping children reach these, while meeting them where they are at (i.e. the 3 month-old may not reach milestones quite as early as his older sibling).
  • There is a friendly family dog (a Weimaraner), who has a dog walker and is therefore not the candidate’s responsibility, but candidates should be pet friendly and prepared to let them outside etc.
  • The family do travel both domestically and internationally, so candidates should be willing to accompany them- they spend June and July in the Hamptons, but would try to keep to the same schedule as far as possible. They also go to Canada 2-3 times per year, but will amend the schedule to ensure that candidates remain rested and energized at all times.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 5 years' verifiable experience working in a similar role with multiples
  • Experience working with children with G-Tubes is a plus but is not essential.
  • Be a team player - candidates will work as part of a cohesive team, and must be willing to maintain a harmonious and positive work environment

Requirements

  • US passport, Green Card or EAC
  • COVID vaccinated, and up to date on Flu/RSV/Tdap and MMR vaccinations
  • Passport ready and willing to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Available to start ASAP

Salary and Benefits

  • $125-130k+
  • Healthcare stipend
  • Discretionary bonus
