Overview

A lovely family of four relocating to New York is seeking a full-time live-in/out nanny/housekeeper to help care for their two children, aged 3.5 and 6. To begin with, the family will be based in a serviced apartment from March 29th to April 5th, after which they will find a permanent residence on the Upper East Side. The schedule would be Monday through Friday, 7am-7pm.

The role will initially be more focused on the children but once the family is in their permanent residence more housekeeping will be required during school hours. Mom will be in and out of the house throughout the day, so the candidate should be comfortable with this. Once familiar with the schedule and routine you would be expected to maintain your day as the Mom doesn't intend to micro-manage. The family has a son and daughter, who will most likely go to separate schools so there could be an element of working as a tag-team with Mom for any after-school activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the morning routine; get the children ready for school, and prepare breakfast
  • Assist with school drop-off/pick-up
  • Whilst the children are at school; do household laundry, ironing, light housework, ensure the children's bedrooms and areas are kept clean and tidy and the kitchen wiped down after use
  • Prepare family style meals for dinner, and toddler school lunches
  • Assist with after-school activities
  • Assist with bed and bathtime routine

Qualifications

  • The ability to speak a second language is desired - either Greek, Spanish, or French
  • The candidate should be energetic, proactive, respectful, organized, neat and tidy, patient, and have a good sense of humor
  • Organize fun activities, and have a playful side
  • A driver would be a bonus
  • The family travels throughout the year to London, Australia, Greece, and within the US. They would like the candidate to travel with them at least for the next two years while the children are still young.
  • Looking for longevity with their family

Requirements

  • Should be able to provide good references
  • Excellent communicator
  • Should have experience of working with children of this age
  • Be available for babysitting Friday or Saturday nights as paid overtime
  • They are a real foodie family and enjoy eating Mediterranean, Asian, and Greek food. So, it's important that the candidate is comfortable working in the kitchen and is an excellent cook

  • $35/hr
  • Average of 60 hours per week
  • 2 weeks PTO
