Overview

A lovely family in Wandsworth seeks a brilliant live-out housekeeper/house manager to help care for their homes.  The ideal schedule would be Monday through Friday, 7.30am or 8am-12.30pm or 1pm, however the family can be flexible and could offer 3 slightly longer days for the right candidate.  Please note that the role is not likely to start until Spring 2025.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be doing the housekeeping and management for a large 5,500sq ft home, as well as for a smaller property just 15minutes' walk away.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning of all rooms in the home, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, wiping etc
  • Keeping the kitchen organised and immaculate
  • Keeping an eye on pantry stock levels, cleaning supplies etc
  • General tidying and organising
  • Laundry and ironing for the family (parents and one child)
  • Online ordering
  • Identifying problems and issues, getting in contractors and trades if necessary
  • Coordinating with the gardener
  • And really anything and everything that contributes to the smooth running of both properties, and keeps both in pristine condition

Requirements

The family is keen to find someone loyal, supportive and who is happy to take on a role that doesn't involve much supervision or direction.  Discretion is key, the family value their privacy and won't be around for much of the time - they will be relying on the successful candidate to really take ownership of the role and to have their best interests at heart.  The successful candidate should:

  • Have a positive, can-do personality
  • Be fit and active, able to manage both homes with ease
  • Be an organised team-player and a great problem-solver
  • Be an effective communicator
