Overview

Seeking an experienced Chief of Staff (“CoS”) to oversee the administration and operations of the private family office for a high-net-worth Principal /Chairman of an alternative asset management firm. This position is within a single-family office that is evolving and ready to be expanded. The CoS will oversee the transition of current staff to the family office platform and payroll, and will be responsible for managing various teams including administrative staff, outsourced property managers, and other service providers. This position will report directly to the Principal.

Responsibilities

  •  Human Resources, Financial Control, Facilities, Technology, and Administration

  •  Management and oversight of all non-investment personnel

  •  Lead the transition and integration of staff to the family office platform and payroll, ensuring

    smooth on-boarding and ongoing management of all personnel.

  • Oversee the management of multiple properties, including estate management and

    coordination of staff, maintenance, and service providers.

  •  Identify staffing needs including full-time, seasonal, and service provider roles, and lead the

    recruitment/interview process to fill various positions

  • Supervise and provide leadership to various teams of administrative assistants, finance,

    property managers, drivers, and other staff.

  •  Oversee management of large-scale ad-hoc projects as they arise, such as home renovations or

    moves, ensuring communication and coordination between involved teams and service providers

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail, with exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

  • Exceedingly flexible and able to prioritize in fast paced environment, and problem solve when

    needed

  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and resolve issues

    efficiently.

  • Highly flexible, proactive, and able to anticipate needs and challenges.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years work experience with 5 years of experience managing a family office for a Principal ideally in the alternative investment or media industry (or a similar high-net-worth environment).

  • Demonstrated ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with high-level executives, family members, and external partners, while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information and make informed decisions.

  •  Availability after normal business hours as required for the Principal’s needs and to support

    administrative staff as necessary in their evening or weekend roles.

  • Power user in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Power-Point and proficient in Excel

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary starts at $200k and is flexible for the right fit.
