Overview

A highly skilled and professional full-time director of residences is sought to support a high net-worth individual and oversee the interiors of several properties within the tri-state area. This pivotal role requires a combination of exceptional attention to detail, organization and being well versed in all aspects of hospitality. The ideal candidate will be highly adaptable, possess a strong record of managing a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple requests simultaneously, and experience working across multiple properties.

Responsibilities

Interiors and Inventory:

  • Customize spaces for guests: Tailor the arrangement and presentation of spaces according to the preferences or needs of incoming guests, creating a personalized experience.
  • ‘Finishing’ oversight: Ensure continuity in readiness of the interior (and exterior pool) spaces once housekeeping, facilities and any external vendors have finished their daily services.
  • Document inventory changes: Maintain accurate records of all additions, removals, or changes to property inventory.
  • Maintain detailed inventories: Track all items within each property, including furnishings, equipment, supplies, and consumables. Ensure inventory is updated consistently to reflect any changes.
  • Wardrobe management:Collaborate with household staff to manage and maintain orders, deliveries, tracking returns and exchanges in multiple locations; organize purchases across multiple locations

Guest Services and Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of guest services, ensuring a seamless experience for Principal and personal, as well as business guests. Anticipate needs and preferences, providing personalized attention. Act as the ‘guide’ for all guest weekends/events

Food and Beverage Service:

  • Serve drinks and food to guests at various occasions, maintaining the highest standards of presentation and etiquette. Prepare and set up dining areas for casual gatherings, formal meals, or business meals. Perform these services in conjunction with the current Butler.

Coordination with Staff:

  • Collaborate closely with the chefs and housekeeping to coordinate meal logistics, including menu planning, timing, and serviceflow. Ensure that all food and beverage needs are met, and that dietary preferences and restrictions are accommodated. Perform these services in conjunction with the current Butler.

Communication:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between guests for all inquiries and communication. Foster relationships with vendors and service providers to maintain service standards

Ad-Hoc Support:

  • Assist with special projects and other tasks as required

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Executive Butler, Director of Interiors, or similar role in a high net-worth household or luxury hospitality environment
  • Knowledge of fine dining, etiquette, and hospitality standards is essential
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, and travel between properties in the tri-state area
  • Proficiency in managing staff and coordinating complex schedules and events
  • A background in hospitality management or related fields is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AirTable, Workday, Apple products, and other relevant software
  • Valid driver’s license; comfortable driving when necessary

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a polished demeanor and the ability to interact with high-profile individuals
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Discretion and confidentiality are paramount, given the nature of the role and the clientele
  • US passport, Green Card or EAC 
  • Available to start ASAP
