Overview

A couple living between NYC and Washington, DC, is seeking a full-time butler to help keep their busy lives and properties on track. Depending on the day, the home is a mix of formal and informal services. This would be a live-out role, working tentatively Monday through Friday from 10am-8pm, with flexibility. Preference is for someone already local to NYC but they are open to relocating the right person. This position is looking to hire immediately.

Responsibilities

  • Answering the door and receiving guests
  • Handling packages
  • Overseeing our cleaning staff that comes three days a week
  • Pickup around the house on days the cleaning staff is not here
  • Support the PA with organized events and formal/in-formal dinners
  • Ability to cook light meals
  • Table setting/silver service
  • Comfortable watching small dogs
  • Driving the principals, if needed
  • Wardrobe/personal shopping
  • Organization around the homes and properties
  • Wine management
  • Care of fine arts
  • Create household manuals
  • Handling vendors and contractors on the properties
  • Traveling between both properties, NYC and Washington, DC.
  • While the position would work directly with the principal and partner, the position would still report to the PA.

Requirements

  • Five-Star level experience
  • Prior formal service experience
  • Traveling between properties
  • Additional travel, if needed, may be required
  • Driver's license with a clean record
  • Fully vaccinated
  • Polished and professional appearance at all times
  • Being fluent in French is a plus but is not required
