Overview

A family in the Financial District are seeking a part-time nanny for their 3-year-old (their current nanny is retiring), starting in January 2025. The schedule will be a guaranteed 20 hours per week, from 2pm-6pm Monday through Friday. If candidates are seeking more hours, the family are willing to discuss this, and supplement with additional responsibilities such as running errands, grocery shopping, family laundry etc. The schedule will switch to full-time in the school holidays, and hours will be more like 9am-5/6pm Monday through Friday. The family travel to Pittsburg for Christmas and elsewhere throughout the year on shorter breaks, but will not require the candidate to travel with them.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging, mindful care for the child, ensuring safety, well-being and development.
  • Collaborate with the parents and maintain open communication/ dialogue on any issues that may arise
  • Design a schedule of activities (inside and outside the home) that foster creativity, and help the child master language, numbers etc.
  • Simple, healthy food prep and minimal laundry (for the child only - there is a housekeeper who deep cleans the home and manages family laundry etc.)

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years verifiable experience
  • Mandarin or German language skills are a huge plus
  • Candidates should be attentive and engaging with their son - no phones

Requirements

  • US passport, Green Card or EAC
  • The family have a dog (Cocker Spaniel mix), so candidates must be pet-friendly  
  • COVID + Flu vaccinations
  • Available to start ASAP

Salary and Benefits

  • $35-$45 per hour + all industry standard benefits.
