A busy West Village family is seeking a seasoned, energetic and highly motivated full-time executive housekeeper to help manage and maintain their home and keep their active household running smoothly to start ASAP. The role is eight hours per day, Monday through Friday, ideally 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm. The ideal candidate is diligent, detail-oriented, and flexible, and can take responsibility for the many different aspects of managing the day-to-day needs of the household. Above all, the ideal candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to pitch in where the family needs. The family is open to bringing on an additional part-time housekeeper to help with deep cleaning for several months while the executive housekeeper gets the household running smoothly.

• Deep cleaning and organizing the home (including the closets and basement storage) to maintain a clean and neat environment
• The candidate must also have excellent laundry skills and will handle all laundry
• The role includes keeping an inventory of household items (including grocery items) and restocking as needed
• Acting as a liaison with household vendors when needed 
• Coordinating regular dry cleaning pickups and deliveries and arranging for any necessary mending
• Handling all packages that arrive, including opening packages and sorting items and coordinating returns/exchanges
• Packing and unpacking for travel
• Preparation and cleanup for occasional entertaining
• Candidate should be comfortable with tasks such as caring for delicate items such as china

• Proactive and self-starter, ready to get to work upon arriving and able to work independently 

• The family has two young children, a medium sized dog, and a cat, and so the candidate must be pet and child friendly
• The home is a townhouse with five floors and so the candidate must also be comfortable going up and down flights of stairs throughout the day; there is no elevator
• The candidate must have strong spoken and written English fluency and must be comfortable communicating via text message daily with the family and the family’s part-time family assistant, who will coordinate with the housekeeper on many of the tasks
• The candidate must also be comfortable using cellphone applications to help organize the household inventory, to do lists, and schedules (e.g., Cozi)
