Overview

A sweet and busy family of 5 based between South Florida and Puerto Rico is looking for a full-time live-in nanny for their children, twins 3 years old and a 1-year-old. The ideal schedule is Monday through Friday 8 am-8 pm. The family is open to 50 hours per week if preferred. This family practices play-based and respectful parenting (Janet Lansbury, Dr. Becky, RIE, etc.) and looks for a nanny who is open to learning about this way of parenting if not already familiar. The family is looking for a career nanny who loves what they do and wants a long-term fit.

Responsibilities

  • Full childcare includes helping with daily routines, reaching milestones, fostering independence, and occasionally cooking for the children. Mom does a lot of the cooking but welcomes some help with meal prep during busy days. Mom will usually do the children's laundry as well.
  • The ideal candidate will be excited to help with at-home preschool learning. This would include designing a schedule of activities (inside and outside the home) that foster creativity, and help the children master fine and gross motor skills, language, numbers etc. Think "Busy Toddler playing preschool." Parents can provide a curriculum guide/lesson plans for the nanny to follow if preferred.
  • Child-related tidying up and organizing, especially at the end of the day (play areas, kitchen, children's bedrooms)

Qualifications

  • These parents are looking for a teammate who will bring ideas to the table and have conversations about upcoming milestones and developmental stages
  • Proactive and looks for ways to help- taking out the trash, organizing the kid's clothes before a trip, running the dishwasher if it's full
  • Comfortable partnering with a stay-at-home mom but also able to happily and easily be sole charge of all 3 children and require little guidance on the day-to-day routine once in the position. The children have a wonderful routine in place that works well.
  • Warm, nurturing, patient, and playful personality. Excited to work with these ages.

Requirements

  • Legal to work in the US
  • Have extensive experience with toddler and preschool-age children
  • Candidates must be CPR/First Aid certified, or willing
  • Candidates must be passport-ready/be willing and excited to travel both domestically and internationally.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (family car will be provided for any on-the-job driving
  • Confident swimmer and comfortable at the beach and in the ocean with young children

Salary and Benefits

$30-35 per hour plus standards benefits (PTO, sick days, holidays, possibly health stipend)

There are a couple of options for live-in housing. In Puerto Rico, the nanny could live-in with the family or use a nearby studio apartment. When in South Florida/Fort Lauderdale, could be live-in or live-out if the nanny is local to the area and wants to commute daily Monday through Friday.
