A busy family seeks a discreet and friendly full-time, live-out groundsman for a Locust Valley, Long Island residence.  The groundsman will work Tuesday through Saturday, 8am-5pm with time for a break during the day.  The family would love for someone to start on 12th August. 

The groundsman will support the principal and the principal's management team in preparation, maintenance and operation of the residential property.  The primary focus will be on the exterior of the residence, but there may also be some support required for the internal team and and Owner family, as required.  Main responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, maintenance and management of all property external areas ensuring Owner and Guests can fully utilise and enjoy the grounds:
  • Driveways and parking areas
  • Fencing and railings
  • Pagodas
  • BBQs
  • Terraces and pathways
  • Furniture
  • Shutters
  • Drainage
  • Air conditioning and plant equipment areas
  • Swimming pool 
  • Irrigation system and sprinkler head maintenance
  • Gardening including weeding, lawn management and planting
• Snow and ice removal
• Estate machinery and equipment management (e.g. chainsaws/lawn mowers etc)
• Contractor liaison and management (e.g. landscape/gardening/pool etc)
• Repair and re-decoration
• Implementation of external areas 'extreme weather protection plan' (hurricane/snow etc)
• Waste management liaison with refuse collection services
• Cleaning of bicycles, cars and golf buggies as required
• Ad hoc driver support to Owner as required
• Service support to internal team/Owner as required

• Experience in a similar property maintenance, groundsman, caretaking, construction or property role
• Skills in any of the following beneficial:
  • Painting and decorating
  • Vehicle and equipment maintenance/management
  • Gardening/landscaping
  • Property care and repair

• Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the USA
• A confident driver with clean driving licence is essential
• Candidates must like dogs and children
• Applicants will need to be fit, resilient and active, with a proven record of external working
