Overview

A family of five on the Upper West Side are seeking an executive housekeeper to oversee their two-story, 10,000 square foot home. The family also have a second residence in West Islip, where they spend various weekends throughout the year, and a full 8 weeks in the Summer. During this time, candidates would be expected to work out of this residence instead of the UWS property, but the schedule will remain the same, and there is no need for them to live-in. Neither home is strictly formal. The schedule will typically be Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm. There may sometimes be additional hours required in the evenings or on weekends, if ever the family are hosting an event or other, but notice will be provided, and overtime will be applied.

Responsibilities

  • Laundry for all the family (including 3x children aged 6, 12, and 15) - there will be some high-end items but many of these can be dry cleaned
  • Ironing 
  • Deep cleaning 1x per week 
  • Deep cleaning the fridge and freezer 1x per month 
  • Mopping the floors 1-2x per week
  • General tidying up 
  • Unpacking deliveries
  • There is a full-time chef so there is no need for grocery shopping or cooking 

Qualifications

  • Candidates must have 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role, in a high-end private home
  • Candidates must have verifiable and superlative references

Requirements

  • Be able to prioritize effectively- i.e. the floors do not need to be mopped every day, but the laundry needs to be kept on top of daily
  • Driving is a huge plus but not essential
  • US passport, Green Card or EAC 
  • Available to start ASAP

Salary and Benefits

  • $45-$55 per hour
