Overview

A warm, busy family recently arrived in Manhasset, Long Island, seeks a very detail-orientated and professional housekeeper and cook for their 7,000sq ft home.  The usual schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8am-7pm, with occasional Saturday help needed as well.  The family have extremely high standards and are looking for candidates who understand the requirements of a reasonably formal household, and who can deliver impeccable, hotel-style results.  There is a cleaning team that comes in once per week to conduct deep cleaning, so the housekeeper's focus will mainly be on everyday organising, tidying and cleaning plus cooking.

  • Meal planning and cooking, with particular focus on the evening meal for the whole family (parents and three children)

  • Previous roles in high-end hotels
  • Working as part of a domestic team in a private home
  • Cooking for a family
  • A caring and nurturing personality, and a love for children

Requirements

Candidates will need to be flexible and happy to work as part of a team to support Mum and the family wherever needed.  Ideally, candidates should be:

  • Native Spanish-speakers (the family speak Spanish within the home)
  • Competent speaking English

  • Fantastic team players, with a pitch-in mentality and a positive outlook
  • Capable of working to an extremely high standard and with leaving the home looking pristine at all times
  • Comfortable working within a structured environment and open to direction, feedback and with working under the guidance of Mum
  • Adaptable and flexible, and able to step up during busier periods (holidays, when extended family are visiting, when the parents are away or the family is travelling, for example)
