Overview

A loving and kind family near Chateau Elan in Georgia, are seeking a long-term nanny/private educator to provide care and support for their 2 children ages 6 and 11-months-old. The 7-year-old has autism with an overlap of ADHD and is sensory sensitive. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the whole-brain child strategies, and have experience educating and caring for children with autism. The family likes to travel, and the candidate would need to accompany them on longer trips. The typical schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 6:30pm with flexibility. The family is open to live-in or live-out candidates and will relocate the right person. This is a wonderful opportunity to become a part of this incredible family and enhance their lives.

Responsibilities

  • Full-charge childcare including feeding, dressing, and grooming
  • Always ensuring safety and well-being of children
  • Implement individualized educational and behavioral strategies
  • Research, writing, and teaching of curriculum
  • Engage the children in age-appropriate activities and play to promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
  • Research activities for children locally and prior to travel
  • Drive children to/from activities
  • Pack/unpack for travel
  • Set boundaries and provide structure in a kind and thoughtful way
  • Monitor children’s behavior and provide positive reinforcement and redirection as needed
  • Communicate regularly with family to ensure consistency and continuity of care
  • Guiding and nurturing children to ensure developmental milestone are met

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children who have Autism in a similar role
  • Ability to care for both children and provide each with their own specific needs
  • Resourceful, proactive, and the ability to adapt to changing needs (go with the flow mentality)
  • Thoughtful, patient, and aware that words are powerful
  • Possess a hands-on engaging approach not through tablets and screens
  • Passion for education, child development and overall childcare
  • Highly organized with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

Requirements

  • At least 5 years’ experience as a nanny/educator, governess or similar
    Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Pet friendly – family has a sweet, well-trained Lab
  • Ability to swim – Family will provide lessons if necessary
  • Must be willing to travel domestically
  • Ability to speak another language and travel internationally are huge pluses but are not required
  • Must be legal to work in the U.S.
