An elderly couple in Laguna Woods, CA, is seeking a companion/home health aide to help with their day-to-day living needs.  Ideally, this would be a live-in situation for the right candidate.  Open to discussing live-out, if local, and flexible with schedule.   

The couple are both in their 80s with dementia, and while mostly with it and alert/present, there are times they do not remember things or are confused.  The ability to handle these moments and keep them informed and calm is a plus!  The male is 89 years old and needs help dressing, showering, and daily hygiene.  The female is fully able to do all those on her own.  Both are walking and mobile.  Responsibilities include making sure meds are taken daily, cooking, driving them to doctor appointments, and random daily needs around the home (technology help – tv on/off, adjusting the heat, grocery shopping with the female, etc.).  Must be able to understand doctors' instructions and communicate effectively after appointments with their adult daughter, who lives nearby and is involved in their well-being.

• Companion care or home health aide experience
• Experience dealing with elderly with dementia

• Prior experience working with the elderly 
• Prior experience with showering and daily hygiene
• Excellent communication and organization skills with relaying doctors' information and instructions
• Valid and clean driver's license 
• Must own a car to transport them to/from places
• Must already be living locally in Orange County.  The client is not looking to relocate.

The family is looking to hire immediately and will do an interview, then a few trial days and make a decision based on that.
