Overview

A private family with three young children on the Upper East Side is seeking a flexible and child-friendly housekeeper to join their bustling family. The role would consist of about 90% housekeeping, with the flexibility for the other 10% to be childcare (on a team with the other nannies and the parents). The role will be a combination of live-in and live-out and will guarantee 50 hours per week plus three overnights (each for an extra fee).
 
The schedule will generally be Friday through Tuesday with the following hours:
Friday 11am to 6pm
Saturday 9am to 6pm
Sunday 9am to bedtime (+ overnight)
Monday 7am to bedtime (+overnight)
Tuesday 7am to bedtime (+ overnight)
Leaving Wednesday 7:30am

Responsibilities

  • All maintenance and deep cleaning
  • Laundry and pressing
  • Serving meals in coordination with the housekeeping and chef teams
  • Assisting at dinner parties and events
  • Greeting of family and guests upon arrival
  • Preparing meals/snacks (especially for the children)
  • Taking out the trash
  • Maintaining dry goods inventory
  • Tidying up and organizing the bedrooms and drawers as needed
  • Minor childcare duties (could include attending to children’s needs, engaging the children in the home, walking the children outside, reading/writing with the children, overseeing homework, and overseeing playdates)

Qualifications

  • Experience working on a housekeeping team
  • A warm, discreet, hardworking disposition
  • Comfort working in a formal family-oriented environment
  • Swimming skills would be a plus but aren't required
  • Knowledge of high-end furnishings

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a housekeeper
  • Must be legal to work in the US
