Overview

A private family in Kings Point, NY (in western Long Island) is seeking a full-time housekeeper to join their team. The position is 5 days per week with two consecutive days off, sometimes including weekends and bank holidays. The schedule is subject to change but will typically fall in the 8am to 6pm hours (with 50 hours guaranteed). Flexibility for overtime and occasional overnights is essential. They prefer a live-out candidate but if someone is commuting from somewhere farther away, they could stay over 2-3 nights per week. They are focused on the right fit above all else.

Responsibilities

  • All maintenance and deep cleaning in coordination with the rest of the housekeeping team
  • Laundry and pressing
  • Serving meals in coordination with the housekeeping and chef teams
  • Assisting at dinner parties and events
  • Greeting of family and guests upon arrival

Qualifications

  • A bright, organized and efficient candidate with a calm, helpful demeanor
  • Knowledgeable about cleaning high-end furnishings and garments
  • Comfort in a fully-staffed home with a 5-star resort-like feel
  • Team player mentality
  • Flexibility and professionalism
  • Strong sense of discretion
  • Driver's license is preferred but not required
  • Cooking skills are a plus but not required

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a housekeeper
  • 3+ consecutive years in a similar formal household
  • Must be legal to work in the US
