A high-profile family are seeking a construction project manager/owner’s representative to provide management and oversight for the development of multiple residences (approximately 50,000 square foot of livable space) on Shelter Island, NY.
The candidate will report directly to the principal and key responsibilities will pertain to managing ongoing construction projects, to include; general oversight of construction, liaising with design, architectural and contractor teams to ensure proper execution of principal’s vision; liaising with and sourcing all pertinent vendors to ensure five-star finishes, cutting edge technology and green efficiencies; liaising with the principal and the principal’s chief of staff on a daily basis regarding updates and open items; reviewing, approving and processing invoices; supervising and/or assisting vendors with assigned work– quality control and efficiency of use are essential; relationship management with key vendors associated with the above mentioned day-to-day facilities and scheduled maintenance services.
Candidates are required to have an undergraduate degree/engineering background, a minimum of five to ten years of relevant work experience (design/construction experience preferred), strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point skills, the ability to read architectural and engineering documents, strong written and oral communication skills, a critical eye and the ability to judge levels of finishes, strong project management skills, excellent client relationship skills, experience preparing budgets, and a history of delivering projects on time and on budget.
