A private family with an estate in the Kings Point area of Long Island and a residence in midtown Manhattan is seeking a full-time live-in or live-out housekeeper to join their team. The position is 5 days per week with two consecutive days off, often including weekends (especially between September and May). The schedule is subject to change but will typically include 50-60 hours per week. Flexibility is essential and the candidate must be comfortable working evenings and bank holidays as needed. 

 

Responsibilities include all maintenance and deep cleaning, laundry and pressing, assisting at dinner parties and events, greeting of family and guests upon arrival, and more.  The ideal candidate is bright, organized and efficient, and has experience with fine furnishings and their care and is experienced with laundry procedures and the upkeep of fine linens. The household is fully staffed, so you must feel comfortable working in a team environment. The candidate should be flexible and professional with a strong sense of discretion.

 

You must have at least 5 years of experience working as a housekeeper and 3+ consecutive years in a similar formal household. You should have a strong knowledge of NYC and must be comfortable around a large dog. A driver's license with a clean driving record and confidence driving an SUV is a must, as is an up-to-date COVID vaccine. Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus, as are cooking skills. The competitive salary range offered is $30 to $40 per hour plus overtime, and the rate will reflect the experience and skillset of the hired candidate.
