An individual in the entertainment industry is seeking a temporary travel nanny to care for her 2-year-old daughter while she films in Europe for a period of 6-months. The role will start (schedule TBD) in Los Angeles at the beginning of November and will be live-out through the end of December. The nanny will then spend from January through the end of June in Europe in a live-in capacity (the first 12 weeks or so of the trip will be spent in Berlin, followed by Sweden, Russia and Cologne). The first 2-months of the contract will provide the nanny with an opportunity to receive a comprehensive handover from the permanent, full-time nanny, who will resume the position once the family return from their trip. Candidates can expect to work 6 days per week while the principal is on set, though will at all times have a private bedroom and bathroom, and is not required to sleep in the same room as the child.
The family's current nanny loves to cook and prepares food for everyone, which is a huge help, so the successful candidate would ideally also enjoy cooking, and be willing to follow suit. Other responsibilities will include light laundry for the child only, working with the PA to research activities in each location and generally keeping the child on track developmentally. The ideal candidate will be education-focused, flexible, autonomous, proactive, athletic and adventurous (i.e. be excited to jump in the car and go to the park, zoo or aquarium, take the child to swimming classes, ride bikes, pull up their sleeves and engage the child in arts and crafts, etc.). Since the child will likely not be enrolled in nursery for the duration of the trip, it would be ideal if the candidate had a solid understanding of developmental milestones, and a tried and tested range of age appropriate activities up their sleeve. As such, an educational background in Child Development, ECE or other relevant field is preferable.
Candidates must enjoy travel, and be comfortable working long hours, as well as be comfortable spending 6 consecutive months in Europe. Only those candidates who are able to commit to the full 8 months will be considered. Candidates must be fully vaccinated, ideally with a clean and current driving license (the family may require the nanny to drive in both LA and in Europe, for the purpose of driving to the set etc., but this is not a deal-breaker as a driver can be on hand). If you are interested and legal to work in the US, please apply to KP284.
