An amazing family are looking for a long-term, live-in, domestic couple. The families' main house is in Lakeville, Connecticut and their secondary property is 10 minutes away, in Sharon, Connecticut. This role is a great opportunity with a really nice family, who work as a team with everyone. Their properties are fully staffed and everyone helps each other and chips in, even if it is not their primary job function. The domestic couple would live in the Sharon property.
The domestic couple should be flexible to work weekends and holidays, if needed. Both must be COVID vaccinated. The live-in domestic couple should include a caretaker and a housekeeper and should be flexible to travel as needed, between properties in Lakeville and Sharon.
The caretakers duties will include, but are not limited to, assisting with overall upkeep and maintenance inside and outside of both locations. You must be enthusiastic and willing and able to assist where needed or required to ensure the needs of each property are met. You can also expect to manage the upkeep of the property including grounds, residence, pool, play equipment, etc., communicate with vendors such as, tree, landscape, irrigation, pool, snow removal, wood etc., obtain bids/estimates to submit, handle detailed organization and maintenance, inside and out, run regular checks on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, A/V equipment, and appliances throughout buildings, especially (but not limited to) during & after heavy rain or snowfall, upkeep vehicles (pontoon boat, mini camper) maintain equipment and inventory/stocking, operate the forklift for scheduled deliveries, general labor & small carpentry needs, assisting in set-up and breakdown, as needed, for special events, and additional property responsibilities as requested.
Their ideal caretaker will be organized and punctual, a great communicator, comfortable working with text, emails and online calendars (preferred team communication method), handy, experienced with/ general knowledge of plumbing/electrical/carpentry, and will have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, will be flexible in scheduling/hours as needed, and will have a valid driver’s license & reliable vehicle.
The housekeeper part of the role can expect to run local errands, maintain the cleanliness of all spaces on property which mainly includes the kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, art storage building, and the pool house, but are not limited to those areas. You will also handle all vacuuming, mopping and carpet/rug care, dusting, polishing and caring for furniture, silverware, linens, marble, crystal and antique pieces, and turning over guest spaces as needed (this will include remaking beds, laundering
bedding and towels). Other duties include cleaning and sanitizing toilets, showers/bathtubs, countertops, and sinks, maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen area, washing accessible windows, helping out with occasional evening events and assisting with household decorating for parties and holidays.
Their ideal housekeeper will have at least 3 years of experience, will be proactive and a self-starter, will have the ability to work independently on tasks and projects, must be able to lift up to 50lbs, be comfortable with working with texting, emails and online calendars (preferred team communication method), and must have drivers license, and reliable vehicle.
